Is Svg The Same As Eps. SVG Files are best for web related projects and EPS is best for print related projects. Instead of focusing on the file formats think more about the uses for your logo.
It has a rather high compression ratio and supports transparency. Its really important that the designer you work with knows the difference. You can save files from Photoshop as eps but those are not Vector files.
Personally I perfer to use Inkscape and havent had any issues.
