Silhouette Svg File Not Supported. The other file types that are supported by basic silhouette studio will open, but will need to be traced to produce cut lines. This is necessary to open studio files in other software programs or to share with a friend.
Back to those files… until i bought my silhouette cameo, i did not know what.svg files were, and i imagine many of you don’t know either. Do not convert design files to other formats like embroidery. You will be on the design tab (see the top right corner of the window).
The file will not be layered into individual colors like a vector file (.svg or.dxf).
Ultimately, the file type you want to use with your machine is a svg file. Bmp,csv,doc,gif,ico,jpg,jpeg,odg,odp,ods,odt,pdf,png,ppt,swf,txt,xcf and xls.if you try to upload a file that is not in the legal extensions you will. A svg file, short for scalable vector graphic, can be resized large or small without losing quality. Still if they open studio and choose open file and click on the svg it should still work.
